Tris Carpenter, President
Since 1992, Tris has been building strong and effective unions from the ground up. He's organized employees in hundreds of professions, built contract campaigns that used political and community leverage to win major gains at the table, and enforced those gains through grievances and arbitrations.
Qualifications
Tris is recognized as one of the most effective union organizers in California. In the private sector, he has taken on some of the largest entertainment industry companies in the world. In the public sector, he has organized large units of professional and blue-collar workers at the state, county and municipal levels. He co-edited and contributed to Surviving the New Economy
(Paradigm Publishers, 2007), a groundbreaking book about collective strategies used by technology workers around the world.
Tris holds a Master's degree in Labor Relations from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, one of the top union-oriented graduate programs in the United States.
